about

Rural escapes for those yearning for a simpler existence, by the creators of the wildly popular tumblr Cabin Porn.
Created by a group of friends who preserve 55 acres of hidden forest in Upstate New York-Cabin Porn began as a scrapbook to collect inspiration for their building projects. As the collection grew, the site attracted a following, which is now a huge and obsessive audience.

The site features photos of the most remarkable handmade homes in the backcountry of America and all over the world. It has had over 10 million unique visitors, with 350,000 followers on Tumblr. Now Zach Klein, the creator of the site (and a co-founder of Vimeo) goes further into the most alluring images from the site and new getaways, including more interior photography and how-to advice for setting up a quiet place somewhere.

With their idyllic settings, unique architecture and cozy interiors, the Cabin Porn photographs, are an invitation to slow down, take a deep breath, and feel the beauty and serenity that nature and simple construction can create.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Coffee Table Book I bought this for myself after seeing it at another local shop, and I am in love with it! Its an eye catching piece and all the images inside are beautiful and make me crave my own cabin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kind of really upset I don't have a cabin. I am extremely jealous of the fact that I don't live in a secluded cabin in lush, upstate New York. This book of pretty much just beautifully shot photographs has touched me with just a huge splash of lament for my lack of ability to purchase a cabin as beautiful as this. Just give me any of these and I'll be good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This makes me sad I don't own a cabin Beauty is pain. This book has me dreaming of owning a beautiful, secluded cabin in the middle of the New York woods. To think that a book that is just full of pictures can have this real effect of jealousy on you is super real. Kind of super upset that I'm not rich enough to own a cabin even though I live in Canada which is 95% trees. All in all I love this book and I wish I had a cabin so this is the next best thing to having a real cabin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Divine Solitude in a Book Like other reviewers have said it's a gorgeously put together photo album of far of places, dream worlds of wonder, and mini paradises along with some stories of who lives there and how those pockets of joy came to be. If you love the idea of a queit life far away from people but can't quite get there, definetely check this book out. $30-35 is a pretty decent price for what you get. #plumreview

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whimsical Given its name, this book delivers. It's a whimsical photo album, essentially, that allows you to day dream while you flip through images of little slices of heaven, far from the madding crowd, so to speak. There are personal stories included and inserted throughout to read about how some people have made the dream of living off-grid or in their own little paradise a reality and they're quick to get through. Nice gift or coffee table book with beautiful photos!
