He is Carpathian. Ancient and unassailable. She is human. Young and vulnerable. Without her, he will not survive. Caught between two warring species, Dimitri has spent centuries hunting the undead to keep his people free and humans safe. He has survived honorably when others have chosen to give up their souls. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skyler and Dimitri I had been I had been waiting for this story and, as usual, Christine Feehan delivers more than anticipated. Skyler is a strong heroine who is a match for Dimitri, the romantic hero who will do anything for his soul mate. The dark moment of the story shows that he will go to any length, break every taboo to save her life. A great Carpathian novel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dark Wolf This is my first Christine Feehan read and although I am kicking myself for not reading the series in order, I was not disappointed in the book. I did feel a little lost when there were so many other characters introduced and not knowing their histories made it difficult to connect with them in the story. I would recommend reading the series in order. The Carpathians and Lycans are on the verge of war. Mikhail, the Carpathian prince and the Lycan council members are working on an alliance but there are those in the Lycan community that feel all mixed bloods are dangerous and should be eliminated. Dimtri, Guardian of all and a mixed blood, is being held hostage by the Lycans and the council assures the prince that Dimitri is being well cared for. In reality, Dimitri has been given a death sentence and is enduring an unbelievably painful torture, unbeknownst to the council. It seems there are traitors among the Lycans and no one is sure who can be trusted. Skyler, Dimitri’s lifemate, along with her two best friends, Josef and Paul, set out to find Dimitri and free him before the Lycans kill him. As the trio begins their journey, the odds seem to be in their favor since everyone they encounter dismisses them as threats because of their youth. Can the trio save Dimitri and get out of Lycan territory with their lives in tact or are their plans doomed from the start? Dark Wolf is a classic love story. Two destined lifemates face insurmountable obstacles in order to find each other. I absolutely fell in love with Dimitri. Finding out his lifemate was so young and terribly scarred from an unthinkable childhood, his faithfulness, kindness and unwavering patience with Skyler is amazing. Dimitri is protective, possessive, supportive and loving and I was swooning every instance he shared page time with Skyler. I also enjoyed the interactions with Josef, Paul and Skyler. They were, undeniably, the comic relief in the story. There’s action, excitement, humor, romance and death-defying love so pure that it can conquer anything. Four Stars for Christine Feehan! ***I received an ebook copy from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own***

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I expected. I can't write much, otherwise I will ruin the story for someone. I think I expected more or Dimitri, but it was good seeing Skyler in action. I think the chanting got out of hand... too many of those. Maybe I'm a little disappointed because I wanted to read more about carpathians and less about wolves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good I will start by saying i liked the book. It seemed like i have been  waiting for this book forever, however; i must say i was a little disappointed. Through the series ever since Skyler first appeared... i have been reading things like  "she has untapped power" and "so powerful" and there was so much mystery surrounding her and her abilities. When i read the book , i guess i expected too much. It started off great and then after she rescues him...nothing.   She is powerful, but not like i expected. As i said, maybe i was expecting too much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dark wolf In her latest Carpathian book Christine Feehan delivers. I love this series and it's hard to pick a favourite. I really liked how Skyler embraced her skills as mage, psychic and Carpathian all. It was also fun to see another side of Josef. I'm looking forward to his story sometime. The hardest part, as always, is waiting for the next book to be published!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dark Wolf Whenever I read a story written by Christine Feehan, I lose myself in the vivid descriptions of the stories characters. I become involved with the characters as if they were part of my family. All of her books just seem to flow effortlessly from one storyline to the next. They can be read separately or chronologically. This story has expanded the Carpathion story line to link them with the Lycans and the Jaguars. It has opened the way for even more stories to merge together while the characters come alive to us. I can hardly wait for the next story to be told.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dark Wolf I have been waiting for this book to hear Skylar' sand Dimitri's story. The relationship between them both was very well done I also like how it showed the struggles with the rest of her familiar the struggled to move past her abuse.

Read from the Book

Chapter OneSkyler Daratrazanoff pulled the long black shawl closer, making certain her hair was covered and there was little to see of her face. Her heart beat so hard she was afraid anyone close would hear. Everything hinged on making the official believe her. Josef had forged the papers, and he was the best. He could hack any computer, provide information or get it. She didn’t doubt for a minute that the papers he created would be in order and pass close scrutiny, but she still had to make the official believe her.The tin building was rusted and looked as if it might fall apart at any moment. A man came forward to meet her, looking solemn as the casket was wheeled ahead of her into the shade of the building. Fortunately the sun was setting and shadows fell around her, helping to make it more difficult to see her clearly.“Your papers?” he said. His voice was kind. The name on his badge identified him as Erno Varga. She glanced back toward the small plane she’d flown to the airport and then handed her papers to the official, making certain her eyes were downcast and she looked weepy. She had taken care to use drops to make her eyes red and watery, just in case she couldn’t pull off acting on her own.Varga looked over her papers and then up at her several times with sharp, disbelieving eyes. “You’re young to be bringing home your brother’s body alone. No one else is traveling with you?”She shook her head, trying to look more tragic than ever. “My father is dead, and now my brot
