Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enchanting My 10 year old received this book for Christmas, he was so enchanted with Ben and Firedrake that he wanted to read it with me right away. I read it and also found myself lost in their world. Characters are believable and lovable. It is a classic story of friendship. Can't wait to read the sequel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Childhood adventure The first cornelia funke book i ever got. It was my gateway to her world. After I bought every book. Dragon Rider was an out of the ordinary world to dive into. Things that you never heard of that suddenly mystified you and pulled you in. Sorrel, a brownie, with her quirky comments & an introduction to humonculi. A child who loves dragons will love this book. Its a PG adventure against a dark force. True lessons of friendship & it's shapes & sizes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Funke's Imagination is Genius As a child, it was difficult for me to get into longer stories. Funke's novels, however, are so easy to get lost in. Dragon Rider is a fantastic book for young readers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Amazing" This is one of the best Cornelia Funke books out there, and even though it is for a younger audience, I still enjoyed it more then I enjoyed a teen dystopian novel. This book was amazing, Cornelia brings us on an adventure like no other. We go to many fictional places, but every time we travel, our story gets more and more interesting. TheBookReviewer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dreamy[!!] Like a review on the back of this book says "Marvelous Stuff for dreaming adventurers of any age." I agree! I was in need of an adventure, the end of school really can make some people go crazy! And this book did just it! I just finished reading it again. Great book if your planning an escape from the real world any time soon! Monika

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good I thought this book was a fun read. But I would not recomend it to teenage readers(as I am one)because it doesnt have what teenagers look for in books. If you are a teenager yourself and want a book read i suggest The Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Pollini(also know as Eragon or Eldest and soon to be coming out Empire in Fall). But in all I thoguht it was a fun book to read. Not much surprises just alot of adventure and good for young readers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Boring I thought this book was going to be great but after reading about 6 chapters u think its never going to end. Rated 1 out of 5 by from BORING I think that Dragon Rider was one of the worst books I've ever read. I seriously just wanted to put it down and stop reading it the moment I finished the tenth chapter. But something kept me going on reading it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Book Ever (even better than Harry Potter) I got this book from Scholastic at school, and at first it was kind of just talk-talk-talk. But once I got to about the 7th chapter it was getting kind of cool and sometimes scary. And then it got better with each chapter. I couldn't put it down. I even got into trouble for not stopping reading when it was time for dinner or going to school. I felt so sad when the book was over. I want to go and buy all of Cornelia Funke's books. P.S. READ THIS BOOK!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful In Every Aspect Dragon Rider is an amazing book. I bought Dragon Rider with my birthday money not knowing what to expect. Would I be wasting my money? I went home and started reading Dragon Rider and I was sucked into the magical world. From magical creatures to new mysterious lands. Dragon Rider is a ride you will never forget! I'm now a fan of the author Cornelia Funke. This book is wonderful and is one of my favourite books that I'm proud to say I bought for my birthday!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT! I got this book for Christmas and at first I really wasn't sure I would like it. But once I got into it, I couldn't put it down. It was amazing! I recommend it for all ages. It's about a colony of dragons who are in danger from humans. A dragon named Firedrake agrees to go on a mission to find The Rim of Heaven and takes his furry friend Sorrel. On the way he meets Ben, a human who helped get Sorrel out of trouble. But, there's someone else who wants to find the Rim if Heaven. You'll just have to read it and find out! It's an excellent book.
