They thought they had escaped. They were wrong.

After fleeing the Branch with Sam, Cas, and Nick, Anna is learning how to survive in hiding, following Sam's rules: Don't draw attention to yourself. Always carry a weapon. Know your surroundings. Watch your back.
When memories from Anna's old life begin to resurface--and a figure from her childhood reappears--Anna's loyalties are tested. Is it a Branch set-up, or could it be the reunion Anna has hoped for? Ultimately, the answers hinge on one question: What was the real reason her memories were erased in the first place?
Jennifer Rush delivers a thrilling sequel toAlteredin a novel packed with mysteries, lies, and surprises that are sure to keep readers guessing until the last page is turned.
Jennifer Rush began telling lies at the age of five and was immediately hooked. Fiction was far better than reality, and she spent most of her teens writing (about vampires, naturally). She currently lives in Michigan with her husband and two children and enjoys eating ice cream in her spare time. She is the author of the Altered serie...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This is a great series. Every book is just as good as the last one. Highly recommend

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice! As with the first book, this one keeps you guessing. A lot of twists, some you see coming and others you don't. I felt like this one didn't have as much excitement as 'Altered', but it makes up for that in story. Most of the mystery gets solved in this one, but still leaves enough to keep you interested and wanting to read 'Reborn'. I really liked the way everything tied together. A solid continuation to the series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An Action-Packed Sequel "Erased" is the explosive action-packed science fiction sequel to "Altered" that begins after Sam, Cas, Nick and Anna have escaped the "Branch" and a program that genetically altered them and expunged their memories. On the run from Branch agents, the four begin to grapple with flashbacks from the past especially Anna whose memory of her family and the reason she ended up at the farmhouse laboratory begins to resurface. When she's reunited with her sister Dani not only will Anna's duty to the boys be tested, but she will begin to uncover the truth behind her memory loss. In a well-developed, action-packed plot that twists and turns as events unfold, Anna not only begins to unravel memories of her family and the death of her parents, but to a close friendship with Nick, the one teen who seems to despise her. Quickly tension and suspense mounts after Anna discovers her sister Dani is alive, even though that realization may complicate her romance with Sam. In a series of difficulties that have Anna, Cas, Nick and Sam reuniting with Trev Harper, the altered who betrayed them, not only will they have to face danger again but will have to deal with divided loyalties. In this story Sam takes Dani under his wing when the group separates leaving a jealous Anna with Nick. With every flashback she senses a strong bond to Nick, yet the romance between the lovers never seems to change which I found difficult to believe. Yet even with this criticism I found the plot engaging from the first chapter to the last as secrets and lies are exposed and former allegiances are rekindled. The personalities of the main characters continue to develop in complexity, although they make decisions that seem strange at times. Among the new characters are Dani O'Brien, Anna's sister and Sam's ex-girlfriend. She masks her calculating underhandedness behind openness, self-assurance, and devotion to her sister, but the cost of her loyalty could cost the boys their freedom and Anna the loss of her memories again. In this plot we're also reunited with Trev Harper, an altered teen who regrets his treachery and wants to make amends especially to Anna, his best friend at one time. Quiet and smart he goes undercover masking his steadfastness to the four, helping them to undermine the Branch. I enjoyed "Erased" which is enthralling as Anna's past and present merge and she must make a choice between her duty to family and her allegiance to those she's come to respect and care for
