Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for new flower growers/gardeners. I am a professional grower and I think some people may have missed that this is called 'Cut Flower GARDEN' not Cut Flower Business Handbook. If you are looking for guidance as far as planning, expanding, and financial things, try The Organic Farmer's Business Handbook. That said, if you are new to flowers, or even growing flowers intensively, this is a great book. It is beautifully photographed and full of information and varieties (all clearly labelled, by the way) to grow that are suited to gardens and farms devoted to growing cut flowers. It is clearly organised by season, which is how growers have to think. In each section there are jobs, projects, and things to prepare for. I wish there were more resources in the back, or an expanded list of varieties, but other than that - I have no complaints. I would have loved this when I first started.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from meh Oddly organized. Hard to link photos with written text. Most photos have no accompanying text to say what they are of. The projects are small photos that aren't that clear. Each section is organized differently - making it hard to tell if you are looking at a sub-section, a main section, or a small aside in terms of the importance of the information. Includes no selling information. No specific information for marketing flowers, for packing orders, for keeping paperwork.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! What a pleasure to read! I met the author, Erin Benzakein, when I had the incredible opportunity to attend a Floret workshop on a scholarship which was so generously awarded to me. I can honestly attest that, for those of you who are unable to attend a Floret workshop, this book is undoubtedly the next best thing! It’s like having Erin right there next to you providing step-by-step guidance as you plan for the beginning of the gardening season ahead, and will continue to serve as an indispensable reference tool throughout the entire year and for many years to come. The book guides the reader through a whole year on the Floret farm – four gloriously flower-filled seasons. I particularly loved the how-to seasonal projects, as well as the breakdown of individual flower varieties and how to grow and care for them. Beautifully photographed, detailed yet approachable instruction, and chock-full of inspiration, I highly recommend Floret’s book to the beginning grower, the well-seasoned pro, or to anyone with a penchant for beauty and flowers.
