Bestselling author Jeff Guinn combines exhaustive research with surprising, newly discovered material to tell the real tale of two kids from a filthy Dallas slum who fell in love and then willingly traded their lives for a brief interlude of excitement and, more important, fame. Go Down Together has it all—true romance, rebellion against authority, bullets flying, cars crashing, and, in the end, a dramatic death at the hands of a celebrity lawman.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best! By far the best book yet on this duo, Jeff Guinn really goes the limit with his research. Not only does he consult first hand accounts including family members, he gives a rare look at the time period to ensure the reader an understanding of the motive behind the crimes. While we may only have a mythological view, thanks to bad movies, of Clyde and Bonnie, this book will dispel the shadows with a straight forward and non judgemental account. In fact I would consider this the authority about their demise. It also includes the history of the family and friends that were left behind, some doing jail time (Clyde and Bonnie's mothers for instance) for harbouring criminals!

Editorial Reviews

“Guinn has deftly restored the humanity of America’s best known
crime couple, stripping away the Hollywood glamour and hype with
the unvarnished but equally compelling truth.”
