Rated 4 out of 5 by from How To Marry A Millionaire Vampire I love this series. I have read and reread these books many times and recommend it to everyone who is a paranormal lover.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good start but it can only get better It's a good premise... Vampires in the modern world, advancements through scientific breakthroughs in synthetic blood. A good base for future books in the series. I personably was more interested in the friends and surrounding characters than in the main couple Roman/shanna. The title and book art have nothing to do with the plot. There is no "how to" theme in this book, and there is no wedding or bride. Good attempt at comedic romance but I'm hopeful for the next in the series. #plumreview

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire" by Kerrelyn Sparks. Book 1 in the Love at Stake series. Not the type of paranormal book I usually read but I found myself really liking this book. It was really funny! I usually read more dark and deadly stuff (ie: JR Ward) but this was a really nice break from that type of book. This book shows vampires living just like humans do...cable TV for vampires, dentists for vamps and celebrity magazines. Roman is a vampire in need of a dentist (he unfortunately broke his fang) and the only dentist open at night is Shanna. But Shanna has a problem, someone is trying to kill her. Hilarity and chemistry ensue. I found myself laughing out loud at some parts of this book. (And I don't do that very often). Will definitely be reading the rest of this series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT! [CONTAINS MILD SPOILERS] I loved this book so much - from the voice, to the storyline, the chemistry - everything about it just drew me in from start to finish. I read it in a little less than 2 days, and the only reason it took that long is because I had to sleep! I think what I loved the most was the interactions between Roman and Shanna. From the quirky little 'playfights' to their actual arguments, and misunderstandings, they balanced each other, and it was quite beautiful to read. I also loved how their misunderstandings never lasted overly long and dragged through the story - most were dealt with pretty fast, and the characters could move on instead of drag in angst. The only two things that bothered me (and this will sound REALLY weird) were the cover and title. First of all, while this may be wrong (though, admit it - we all do this lol), I judge books by their covers, and this one didn't draw me in at all. I almost didn't read it just because of this and I would have ended up missing quite the gem had I not, but after reading the blurb, I thought "Why not try?". As for the title, I feel like it's a major spoiler since the marriage proposal happens in the...what...I think last page? So the whole time I was reading, I knew their relationship would work because they'd get married. So yeah - weird things to complain about, but either way, I still give this 5/5 stars! I look forward to reading the others, and definitely buying these in paperback too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paranormal Romantic Comedy Great story and I really like it! Would love to have read an epilogue, maybe on their wedding day or some kind of peak into their happiness or maybe even a plot twist? Natural feel of reading much like talking to an actual person. Every character are unique and some you can relate to someone else. I enjoy the scenes between Roman and Shanna, makes you melt all over!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it!! If you like books by Lynsay Sands, Sherrilyn Kenyon, JR Ward, Gena Showalter or Jeaniene Frost you'll enjoy this book! This is a great start to a series I look forward to reading. Roman is a vampire who has everything you could want, money, his own successful business, a coven loyal to him and close friends, but he is still troubled and wonders why he even still exists. So when he sinks his fangs into a project at work and loses a fang....he has no idea the adventure he is about to begin! Shanna is in the witness protection program after witnessing her friend and everyone else in the cafe murdered, so her boring life and job as a dentist is about to becoming exciting! Roman needs a dentist and Shanna is the one he goes to, but once he rescues her from being killed, they begin their adventure together. It's not all smooth sailing and Roman's enemy is the one that is the hired assassin after Shanna. This is a great story, and each chapter keeps you interested!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute and Sexy and about vampires! I really liked this story. Although the idea of a vampire male thinking himself unworthy of love because of his past is kind of redunant. This time it's Roman Draganesti, former monk now a scientist. He finds himself in a jam when he breaks off one of his fangs and has to go to a human dentist to fix it. He goes to Shanna and like all good romances go the two fall in love, face danger and eventually have a happy ending. While I found the story cheesy and not as dark as I like my vampire novel, this one was so bad. You get attached to the different characters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Toothless Vampire? that is exactly what the main character in this fun, quick paced, and amusing novel. Due to a product test gone wrong, millionaire vampire Roman is short one tooth, and only has until dawn to have it replaced. His only hope, Shanna a dentist who is scared of blood. Well above the average paranormal romance novel, I laughed out loud several times. Sparks has an knack for quirky, interesting characters, and fun writing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful Funny Paranormal Romance - Ignore the Terrible Name! I think the stupid names of this authors books (especially for those who don't like reality television) turns a lot of people off. I know I never would have picked up this book if a friend hadn't insisted. Really Insisted! Now, I'll do the same to customers. Shanna is a dentist who is in the witness protection program and living the most boring life on the planet. Until a vampire looses a fang and needs it replaced. She ends up in the world of vampires - where the good ones drink artificial blood and the baddies crave the old people killing ways. It is definitely in the romance part of the genre but anybody who likes Michelle Beardsley or MaryJanice Davidson - think lighter paranormal - should really like this series. I can't wait to find out what happens to the other characters we meet in this first book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Astounding Shanna Whelan is bored, she had asked for boring, and her wish was granted. On what seemed like every other night of her life for the past six weeks, she is working nights at a dental clinic waiting for her pizza to arrive. On this night however, her boredom will end. She receives a phone call from the men who are hired to kill her. Shanna is in the witness protection program, after witnessing the murder of her best friend and testifying against the men responsible. That incident has ruined her life and career, for ever since that awful night, she has a paralyzing fear of blood. Roman Draganesti is a brilliant scientist, who has invented a synthetic blood to save the lives of mortals and vampires alike. Roman is a vampire; he has existed for over five hundred years. He is the master of a coven situated in Manhattan and has grown discontent with his “life”. During an experiment Roman breaks one of his fangs, he has to find a dentist before daybreak, or he will be forever deformed. Thus our two protagonists meet. As Shanna is trying to escape, she runs into Roman, and thinks he is one of the men sent to kill her. When she finds out he is a patient who wants a fang put into his mouth, she thinks he’s a weirdo, and before the night is through she’ll think him a pervert too (which had me cracking up). This book was fast, furious, and fun! The scene where Roman and Shanna were trying to lose the men that are after her had me chuckling out loud. There are so many unique aspects to this novel, and in a time where paranormal romances are hugely popular, Ms. Sparks singular take on vampires will make her stand out among the rest. I loved the fact that her vampires had their own television network, and was impressed with her fusion cuisine, where Roman’s synthetic blood creation is flavored with, for instance, chocolate and is called chocolood. To add variety to vampire diets. Shanna and Roman made a spectacular pair, their scenes together crackled with sexual tension and deep affection. How do a woman who is afraid of blood, and a vampire co-exist? Ms. Sparks makes it compelling and entertaining to find out. I haven’t even mentioned the kilt clad Scottish warrior/vampires who guard Roman they were inspired. I found many characters that intrigued me, and I hope to see them in future novels. There is a villain, who is evil incarnate, and terrifying in his brutality, but he gets what he deserves in the end. How To Marry A Millionaire Vampire may lull you into a false notion of what lies between the covers. Don’t let the title fool you, the plot is multi-layered and in turns dark, yet peppered with Ms. Sparks wonderful sense of humor and an all-healing love. Fans of vampire romances should not miss this book. I will be eagerly anticipating the next.
