Rated 4 out of 5 by from How can this be so over-priced? We liked this one. It's full of eye-opening comparisons to help kids learn about need, want, inequality, and difference at a global level. It works when there is follow up - conversation, further stories, maps and more stats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful book This book is amazing. It takes a concept with numbers so large it is difficult for even adults to understand and turns it into something meaningful. It creates a sense of global identity that is so important. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Book I love this book. It is a great way for kids to understand our various cultures around the world. For our children in Canada, its easy to think that our over indulgent culture is the norm; this book puts things into perspective for the child. To explain the differences in our world to a child can be complex. This book takes the complexity down to a village of 100 people and then breaks out those 100 people based on age, religion, ethnic background, wealth, availability of clean air and clean water and many other categories. My son has learned a lot from this book and I have to admit, so have I. An excellent choice to read to your child and as a reference for older children. All data is based on information gathered from the United Nations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A++++++++ I loved this book, and I would recommend it to any parent/teacher. It really touched me, all the surprising statistics, and the way it was written for a child to understand. You could learn so much from this book. I am currently a student teacher and I've used it for many successful lesson plans!

These days, the world seems to be getting smaller. This timely, unique book enhances that sentiment. It is useful for a current understanding of the world's population.-School Library Journal
