about

Pretty, flighty Daisy Devreaux can either go to jail or marry the mystery man her father has chosen for her. Arranged marriages don't happen in the modern world, so how did the irrepressible Daisy find herself in this fix?

Alex Markov, as humorless as he is deadly handsome, has no intention of playing the loving bridegroom to a spoiled little feather-head with champagne tastes. He drags Daisy from her uptown life to a broken down traveling circus and sets out to tame her to his ways.

But this man without a soul has met his match in a woman who's nothing but heart. Before long, passion will send them flying sky high without a safety net... risking it all in search of a love that will last forever.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh Anyone care to join the circus? That seems to be the starting premise of this particular book; I was perusing the bookshelves of Coles and found this book. I hadn't read it before, and being an ardent Phillips fan, I picked it, expecting to be entertained, amused and enthralled. And I was -- but a circus? Really? It was a fantastic idea, but I wish Phillips could have done more with it. Also, I was NOT a fan of the secondary romantic couple in the novel, Brady and Sheba. Sheba is -- and yes, I'm saying it -- a stone cold b*tch. I was not intrigued by her in the slightest. The heartbreak was touching, the heroine engaging, and all the right ingredients were there -- I just hoped for more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Watch Out Danielle Steel... No words could ever express the feelings I have about this book. Although, amazing is a good start. As soon as I opened the book to the first page I was instantly a part of the lives of the characters. Alex is a strong, willful man who has too much pride for his own good, where Daisy sticks to her principles and would do anything for anyone no matter what the cost. I relate to Daisy and her convictions and wish that one day I'll have a relationship with a man like Alex. I saw them both transform into new people throughout the novel from spending time with each other. I couldn't put the book down. I highly recommend it to anyone 16+. The ending was brilliant as well as surprising. If you're a romantic like me, read the book... you'll love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a wonderful read Very entertaining, Daisy is a wonderful character. Susan E.Phillips outdoes herself in this book. A great story in which Daisy makes friends with a very special tiger (sinjun) and a baby elephant (tater), not to mention gorgeous Markov the cossack.
