about

Swoon-worthy stories of falling in love!

Maddie doesn't believe in luck. She's all about hard work and planning ahead. But one night, on a whim, she buys a lottery ticket. And then, to her astonishment - She wins!

In a flash, Maddie's life is unrecognizable. No more stressing about college scholarships. Suddenly, she's talking about renting a yacht. And being in the spotlight at school is fun... until rumors start flying, and random people ask her for loans. Now, Maddie isn't sure who she can trust.

Except for Seth Nguyen, her funny, charming coworker at the local zoo. Seth doesn't seem aware of Maddie's big news. And, for some reason, she doesn't want to tell him. But what will happen if he learns her secret?

With tons of humor and heart, Kasie West delivers a million-dollar tale of winning, losing, and falling in love.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ok I was honestly a little disappointed. I was expecting more from Kasie West... But i usually love her books, this had to be my least favourite out of all of them

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun and Easy Read This was a fun and easy book, and exactly what I need every once in a while to break up some of the heavier reads. It was my first Kasie West book, but I’ll be getting a few others for the days when I just want to read something light. Is it ok to use the word “cute” in a book review? Because overall, I think that it’s a good word for this book. It’s fun to see how Maddie starts off pretty level-headed about it all (buying out IKEA? Love it.) and then quickly falls into the habit that money can buy happiness for others. My only complaint is that the ending was way too abrupt. It felt like we were watching an old movie where it ends immediately after the main characters finally kiss (or if it’s a really old movie, it ends right before they finally kiss ;D). Everything was resolved, but I like getting to read about the characters relationship at least a bit before it ends

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like it but not my favourite from this author This book was okay but Kasie West’s other books top this one

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute story This had a great female friendship, a really cute love interest and an interesting plot. I liked that it wasn't all about the romance and that it brought up deeper issues. Overall this was a quick and fun read

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What would you do if you won the lottery? This story is just the sweetest! Maddie is such a wonderful character, What would you do with millions of dollars? How do you know who your real friends are? Would you keep your day job? If you need a break from heavier reads, or you just want to escape for a little while, this is the book for you. I would also recommend this story to tweens who want to read from the teen section. Lucky In Love by Kasie West is a perfect beach read. The only thing you need to worry about is remembering to re-apply sunscreen because you will get sucked in and forget to come up for air.

Read from the Book

The first number was 2. My ticket said 2 first as well. My heart was pounding in my throat now. The next numbers matched as well -- 15. My eyes went blurry for a moment and I blinked hard, clearing them. 23. 75. 33. All matched. There was one number left on the site. A red ball. The PowerBall, it was called. It was a seven. Lucky number seven. I took a deep breath and looked at my ticket. Seven. All six numbers matched.I checked them again and then a third time, just to make sure. Was this really happening? Had I just won fifty million dollars? This felt like some sort of joke. I checked the heading of the site again -- PowerBall. And my ticket heading, same. I won the lottery. I just won fifty million dollars.A scream that started in my belly and traveled up my throat burst from my mouth. I almost didn't recognize it as my own. It was a scream of pure joy."Maddie?" My mom was at my door. "What's wrong? Are you okay?"
