Rated 4 out of 5 by from As delicious as it is visually appealing. After trying several recipes on her web site I bought the book, and am happy I did. The photos are beautiful, and the organizational layout is a dream for my inner perfectionist. I found this was a great way to introduce new plant based meals into our diet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gift for those just starting out with veganism I got this as a birthday gift and was pleased to see that in addition to it being a beautifully-designed cookbook full of delicious and simple recipes, it included instructions at the front for essential prep for vegan cooking and baking. They let you know how to substitute things like eggs, whipped cream, and so on. This is a great cookbook whether you're vegan or not, but it's a wonderful cookbook for those who recently became vegan or are planning to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good cookbook I just received this a few weeks ago and have only tried a few things. I have to say, the hard cover makes it really hard to read recipes without a cookbook stand. The few cakes and sweets I made were really good. I made the Pad Thai last week and it was anything but minimalist. It took 1.5 hours and used so many pots and pans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use this every week I've been following Dana's blog for a couple years and I'm so happy to finally have gotten her cookbook. Her recipes are simple, easy to follow and delicious. Because she has 10 or less ingredients, I can go grocery shopping with a simple list and have meals for the entire week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! I am not even close to eating a Vegan diet, but have found the recipes in this cookbook interesting, flavourful, and easy to make. I have enjoyed the Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese and the Cocoa Black Bean Burgers best so far. I can't wait to continue testing all of these recipes out!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from PERFECT EDITION TO MY COLLECTION I bought this cookbook on a whim, because I've been trying to cook more, and was looking for easier recipes - and this fit the bill perfectly. It's the cookbook I reach for the most, and the recipes are either vegan or can be accommodated to be vegan - awesome find!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As good as her website Can't get enough of her website and her book is Worth every penny. Love it ! My go to book for quick meal ideas and more...
Date published: 2017-11-06
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just okay... I ordered this book because my husband and I have LOVED all the Minimalist Baker recipes I've tried from their blog. This book, however, doesn't have many of those delicious recipes and falls a little short. I was disappointed in the variety of dishes and almost regret purchasing. I really bought the book so I wouldn't have to use my phone or laptop for recipes but there aren't very many stand out delicious ones. I would save my pennies and just follow the 'Minimalist Baker' blog if you're looking for a variety of recipes because they post really amazing and delicious ones frequently.

I've been following Dana's blog for nearly two years (since I started my journey as a vegan/vegetarian) and I can handsdown say I couldn't have done it without her blog. Date published: 2017-03-20
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really great! Loved this cookbook--I borrowed it from a friend and intend to make one mine as soon as possible. Very simple recipes, but that doesn't mean they are jam-packed with flavour and happiness! I especially loved the dessert section as I tend to panic in the kitchen, but I was able to follow several of her recipes and instructions without breaking into a sweat and pulled off some particularly delicious, home-made peppermint patties. The rest of the book, from juices/smoothies to entrees, are equally enticing, easy-peasy, and delicious, from what I managed to sample before having to return the book!
Date published: 2017-03-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favourite Cookbook! This is my favourite cookbook to date! Everything in this book is vegan, and most of it is gluten free as well. It is so easy to make all of her recipes, they always turn out as the picture shows, and they are so easily adaptable to different dietary restrictions. I would definitely recommend this book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pressed for time? This cookbook is for you! I love this cookbook. I bought it on a whim at Chapters and have not regretted my decision. Recipes are easy and the author's list the total amount of time at the top of each page. I recognize that many cookbooks do this but the premise of this book is to have meals on the table in less than 30 minutes with less than 10 (or maybe 15) ingredients. The recipes that I've tried have turned out great and the timing tends to be true! I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in plant-based eating or who is just starting out in the kitchen.

Editorial Reviews

“Dana understands that plant-based cuisine should be accessible to the masses. You will fall in love with her approachable recipes using familiar ingredients!”—Angela Liddon, author of the New York Times bestseller The Oh She Glows Cookbook   “Very vegan and often gluten-free Minimalist Baker’s Everyday Cooking doesn’t miss a beat in delivering approachable, comforting, and reliable recipes for the serious vegan or hungry cook who just happens to be out of eggs and cream. This book is a new staple in my kitchen.” —Joy Wilson, creator of the Saveur award-winning blog Joy the Baker   “The love for delicious and exciting food shines from these pages, and it all happens to be vegan and (mostly) gluten-free. Dana has carefully considered time, ease, flavour, accessibility, and any possible occasion with these colourful recipes. Comforting and beautiful food for all!” —Laura Wright, creator of the Saveur award-winning blog The First Mess   “There are certainly days for farmers market strolls and lingering over the stove, but I also appreciate plant-based recipes that are concise and easy to follow. This book is an excellent resource for those not eating dairy or animal proteins while still providing plenty of flavor for omnivores alike. I often reach for cheese when I am looking for richness and flavor but am excited to try some of Dana's alternative ideas.” —Sara Forte, author of The Sprouted Kitchen and Sprouted Kitchen: Bowl + Spoon
