about

MR. RIGHT-SWIPE
A Tale of #LeftSwipes, #NotMyTypes, and #Vodka

Rae Wallace would rather drown in a vat of pinot greezh and be eaten by her own beagle than make another trip down the aisle--even if it is her best friend's wedding. She's too busy molding the minds of first graders and polishing that ol' novel in the drawer to waste time on any man.

But when her best friends stage an intervention, Rae is forced to give in. After all, they've hatched a plan to help her find love the 21st century way: online. She's skeptical of this electronic chlamydia catcher, but she's out to prove she hasn't been too picky with men.

However, when a familiar fella's profile pops up--the dangerously hot substitute teacher from work--Rae swipes herself right into a new problem...

Sarcastic, irreverent, and uproariously funny--the painfully-true, so-insightful-it-hurts kind of funny--Ricki Schultz's wry debut will speak to fans of Bridesmaids or Trainwreck, and to anyone who's ever been on a bad date.

"This book gave me my absolute favorite feeling: laughing out loud alone in a room, chased immediately by the swoons. Nick is my new book boyfriend. But even better? Rae is my new best friend. MR. RIGHT SWIPE is exactly the book I needed."
--CHRISTINA LAUREN, New York Times bestselling author of the BEAUTIFUL BASTARD series

"Highly recommended." - RT Book Reviews (FOUR STARS)
Although she is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and has spent the most time there, Ricki has also lived in Georgia and Virginia. (She promises she's not a drifter, though.) In addition to writing, she has molded the minds of tweens & teens as a middle school and high school teacher in both the CLE and the ATL-and she also spent a yea...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from All About the Laughter and Friendship Lately I've been really into humourous romance reads. Who doesn't love a swoony laughter-filled read, right? Mr. Right-Swipe gave me that. I did feel like the story was missing some sparks but it was overall fun. I had a bumpy start with Mr. Right-Swipe mainly because I couldn't get into the voice. A few pages in and I had the feeling the writing was trying too hard. The sarcasm was there but the dramatics were sometimes too over the top. I think the vibe was suppose to be easy and casual but the dialogue felt too rehearsed at times. It did get better as I got more invested in the story. Rae was hard on herself. Instead of letting others judge her, she's quick to degrade her self-worth and play things off as just fine. She has a very negative view on dating and always seem to need her friends to give her a push. Given her past it was understandable but I'm also very happy to see her perspective to slowly start to change as the story went on. While the wow factor wasn't there for me with the storyline I liked the characters. They were vastly different yet more alike than they seemed. Rae and her best friends were so volatile but I loved their dynamics. They ended up in some pretty hilarious situations but the snarks and steams were so worth it. I also loved that Rae had friends outside of her best friends to talk to. Sometimes you just need a break from those closest to you. Whether it was the sarcasm between the bffs or the flirtation between Rae and her love interests this was a relatable book. While the friendships really shined in Mr. Right-Swipe I think the romance fell on the flat side of things. Rae sees a couple guys throughout the story but she has a very real connection with Mr. Hot Sub Guy that isn't really explored until the last quarter of the book. The conflict in their relationship came quickly and left even quicker. I'm happy for the turnout but I wanted just a bit more development. If you'd like some good laughs in your reads then Mr. Right-Swipe is the perfect candidate. There's humour with a bit of craziness, a side of hotness and a really accurate portrayal of friendship.
