To restore family honor the Marquess of Rotherstone faces his most dangerous mission—finding the perfect bride . . .

To London''s aristocracy, the Inferno Club is a scandalous society of men no proper young lady would acknowledge. But though they are publicly notorious for pursuing all manner of debauchery, in private they are warriors who would do anything to protect king and country.

The Marquess of Rotherstone has decided it''s time to restore the family''s good name. But as a member of the Inferno Club, he knows there is only one way to redeem himself in Society''s eyes: marry a lady of impeccable beauty and breeding, whose reputation is, above all, spotless.

Someone quite unlike Daphne Starling. True, she''s temptingly lovely, but a jilted suitor has nearly ruined her reputation. Still, Max cannot resist her allure—or the challenge of proving London''s gossips wrong. He would do anything to win her hand . . . and show that even a wicked marquess can make a perfect husband.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! Daphne and Max are behaving true the time period in which they live and their life experiences. The concept of this book and the ones to come is very intriguing. Written in true Gaelen Foley style with flawed characters that win your sympathy and affection. They have a battle ahead of them! I hope the good guys win. I can't wait for the next book!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrid This has to be one of the worst books I've read in a while. I have enjoyed all of Foley's previous works and I thought that this book would be equally enjoyable. I was wrong. The heroine is truly the dumbest woman ever. She is portrayed as a intellingent and loving lady who saves orphans in her spare time. In truth, she visits the orphans once, has her new husband buy them a new orphanage and disappears. She is cold to her stepmother, indifferent to her step sisters and acts like a spoiled prima donna to her father. As for her actions towards her beau/husband. Why in god's name he wanted to marry her is beyond me. She makes grand assumptions (very wrong ones) about everything, from his relationship with his sister to his travels on the continent, to his correspondance, to his club and never once asks for clarfication prior to leaving. She generally always runs off. The hero of this book is also annoying. He simply picks his bride off a list provided by his solicitor. He stalks her and then pays her father for her. Lovely. How romantic. However, in the end her stupidity far outweighs his. The whole plot with the Inferno Club versus the Prometheus people is ridiculous written and overwrought. And simply makes the book that much longer to read. I would not recommend this item for purchase, rather go to the local library if you really feel you might want to read it. It's not worth the cover price.
