MARIE BARNACLE SHOULD HAVE HAD THE PERFECT LIFE. A few miles north of the downtown bustle lies the wealthy enclave of Lawrence Park. Amid its winding roads and tree-lined crescents, Raul and Tabitha Barnacle raised their three children. Despite the advantages of ancestry and affluence, young Marie Barnacle is a girl adrift. Driven by her selfish father and domineering mother, Marie tries to live up to the expectations of her sterling, powerful brothers. A beauty from another age, she remains out of place and out of love. Springtime in Lawrence Park journeys through the historical and often hysterical world of the decadent elite
Arnold Logan was born in North Toronto. He went from boarding school in England to working on Southern Ontario dairy farms, from fibreglass factories to horseback riding with the King of Nepal. He studied at Innis College, University of Toronto, and lived abroad for many years. Springtime in Lawrence Park is his first novel.
