Get everything you need to adventure in the Forgotten Realms on the exciting Sword Coast, home to the cities of Baldur’s Gate, Waterdeep, and Neverwinter. Crafted by the scribes at Green Ronin in conjunction with the Dungeons & Dragons team at Wizards of the Coast, the Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide provides D&D fans with a wealth of detail on the places, cultures, and deities of northwestern Faerûn.
The Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide is also a great way to catch up on recent events in the Forgotten Realms, to get background on locations featured in the Rage of Demons storyline coming in September, and to learn the lore behind video games like Neverwinter and Sword Coast Legends.
Here are just a few of the features you’ll find in the Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide:
· Immersive Adventuring: This campaign sourcebook provides players and Dungeon Masters material for creating vibrant fantasy stories along the Sword Coast.
· New Character Options: The book offers new subclass options, such as the Purple Dragon Knight and the Swashbuckler, for many of the classes presented in the Player’s Handbook, as well as new subraces and backgrounds specific to the Forgotten Realms.
· Adventure in the Forgotten Realms: Discover the current state of the Forgotten Realms and its deities after the Spellplague and the second Sundering. You’ll also get updated maps of this area of the Realms.

· Compatible with Rage of Demons storyline: Make characters for use with the Out of the Abyss adventure and fight back the influence of the demon lords in the Underdark below the Sword Coast.
· Insider Information: Learn the background behind locations, such as Luskan and Gracklstugh, featured in the upcoming digital RPG, Sword Coast Legends, from n-Space.
With new character backgrounds and class options, players will love the storytelling possibilities of playing a noble of Waterdeep, an elf bladesinger, or one of the other new options, while Dungeon Masters will relish a book full of mysterious locations and story hooks to keep players adventuring on the Sword Coast for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this one! Even if you are not a fan of the Forgotten Realms setting of d&d, this book has a lot to offer. Tons of ideas that could be stolen and poped into your own games even if they take place in different settings. Besides just the lore though, there are some great additions to character classes and races so that is always a fun bonus for an RPG. #plumreviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Lore, Less Great For Character I really enjoy reading through this for inspiration for world building, but it sadly doesn't offer too terribly much in the way of character building (Like Xanathar's and Volo's) but is great for a DM looking to build a campaign on the Sword's Coast.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent title This is a decent title but isn't a must have. It does help expand some player and DM options, which I really like, but I wish it went further. If you are playing a mainly Forgotten Realms, then you should get this. Purchasing online is a better option if you really want this supplement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ok lots of fluff, not much new game stuff

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ok a good book for lore, but doesnt have enough new gameplay or stats to be worth the high price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good book, but not essential I am a sucker for new storylines, races and subclasses and this book some-what delivers. The Sub-Classes are incredible and the artwork is gorgeous, but I found it to be small, a bit pricy and overall somewhat lacking. What they gave to us is incredible, I just wish there was more for the price. I don't regret buying it however

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for any D&D players in the Realms This is a great sourcebook for anyone playing D&D in the Forgotten Realms. There may be some gaps but overall I think this a book worth picking up. Wonderful artwork makes it a nice book to even just look at.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad, skip if you are players Not a bad book for the DM but i think they could have had more race attribute options. The book has so much background on alternate demi-humans but no mechanical difference for taking them. If you are running a Sword Coast campaign and are continuing the lost mines adventure from the starting box, this is a nice world reference book for the area in which that story takes place. Players won't find too much here unless they really want a super detailed backstory to their characters set in the Sword Coast of FR

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A nice book but not essential If you want lots of info about the Forgotten Realms, this is worth it. I only bought it for the added character options (for which there aren't many). If you're a completionist, go for it, but otherwise don't bother.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent but not Essential I'll forward this by saying a large majority of this book is fluff on the forgotten realms. Now if like me that's what you're looking for then you're in luck! I've referenced this tons of times when fleshing out the settlements my players are visiting. It's fantastic in that regard. But if you have no interest in the sword coast and will probably never run a game there then for the most part you could ignore this. There's a couple of new archetypes and backgrounds but not enough to be worth the price if you're not also interested in the fluff. It's also really small compared to the other books released, almost half the size of the players hand book but basically the same price. It's hard to describe but it feels like there needs to be more "stuff". Like more tables and charts for the towns, and maybe little profiles with the stats for the major characters in the realm. Some monster stats for the particularly unique creatures found in the sword coast would have gone a long way as well. All in all this book is helpful but I can't say it was forth it's full retail price. Get it when it's discounted.
