Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great rule but too much filler I found rating this book difficult. While I really enjoyed the message the book was intended to share I disliked how the book was written which is why I gave it a 3 star rating. I have recommend this book to friends but I always provide a warning with my recommendation. If you can look beyond the use of hashtags in the writing, frequent use of screen shots of social media comments and numerous grammar errors the message Mel Robbins is trying to share is excellent. She explains how she stumbled upon the 5 second rule as well as the reasoning and science behind why it works. I have implemented the 5 second rule myself and found that it works really well. I would have preferred to see a few testimonials written into the content of the chapters instead of seeing screen shot after screen shot of social media comments or emails followed by a few sentences of how the five second rule worked for the person in the screenshot. I found it to be a tad annoying and it felt like filler to reach a certain page count. I also found the reference to the 5 second rule as #5SecondRule very annoying. Hashtags have a time and place and I would prefer not to see it written repetitively in the sentences of the book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read This At A Chapters Store The advice offered actually does work. Count back from 5 or 3 and do it what you have to do in that timeframe. It works. Real testimonials (one can never however, be certain with social media completely) are given in the book to those who tried the advice. Not sure if it can be a complete lifechanger for everyone, but certainly can improve some parts of your habits and thought patterns.
