Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun What a fun way to cook along side the world of wizards. Love the way the recipes were written, and the fact that it actually references the Harry Potter Series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very fun! I got this for my niece who loves Harry Potter, and she has thoroughly enjoyed it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as "magical" as I'd hoped, but still really great I guess it took my going through this cookbook to realize just how many foods mentioned in the Harry Potter series are just British standards. This book does a good job of reminding you of the connections to the Harry Potter universe and you can make a good book-themed feast. There isn't a lot in here that isn't already widely available in online blogs, but it's a nice little collection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great British recipes This book mainly adapts British cuisine into magical food, but hey have some unique ideas! Great for themed parties!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved it I got this book for my birthday one year from my friends. Those girls knew I loved Harry Potter. I loved getting it and I love the recipes inside. I've only ever tried a handful of them but I'd be willing to try more soon! The victoria Sponge Cake was very delicious.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute! A cute gift for that friend who loved Harry Potter. The recipe's aren't too hard and it's fun to make some of the treats from the series

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Clever and Good Food I love anything Harry Potter and any Harry Potter fan would enjoy this book. Well the recipes are mostly traditional British recipes they still get tied into the series by providing quotes from the series that mentioned the food. I've tried about 47 recipes from the cookbook so far within the last 6 months and have liked 45/47. Instructions are very clear and a lot of recipes are at a beginner or slightly above beginner level (although some are advanced but there is a note indicating if it is was). Really love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great book to use for HP themed parties used this book for my daughter's HP themed birthday party and it was so much fun! recipes are easy to follow and my daughter loved helping me whip things up

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mainly basic recipes, but a fun twist Most of the food in the book isn't specifically "Harry Potter" food. That said, there is very little mentioned in the books about food specific to the magical community. The recipes that are are mentioned. The regular British recipes are linked to the HP series by quotes or reference to the books. It's fairly well done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and tasty! I've had this cookbook for years and have always really enjoyed using it. My only complaint is that some recipes are way too lengthy or difficult for me to try (although I'm sure some people would enjoy that). I personally recommend the pumpkin pasties, jam tarts and sugar biscuits - yum!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good book I got it for my friend and she loved it, very good book and a lot of tasty recipes to make.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Innovative and Witty! As a huge fan of Harry Potter, I just had to buy this. Though most of the recipes are WAY out of my skill range, they seem absolutely delicious, although some of the recipes do call for rather odd ingredients i.e. blood... wouldn't recommend trying those ones, unless you just so happen to be a butcher or a vampire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Awesome This cookbook is fantastic! I purchased this book for my son (8 years old) for an Easter Present, and to my surprise he had checked it out at the school library for the March Break! I was shocked and a bit disappointed that he already knows that this book exists, but that's okay, the book will have to go back to the library and then he will receive one of his own at Easter. We loved making the Lemon Drops that are Dumbledor's (don't know if that's how you spell it?lol) favorite. Awesome! Some of the recipes I will never even try, but isn't that true with all cookbooks? Even just reading the descriptions about who liked the recipes in the story and where they came from in the book was enough to get my son reading a cookbook! He made a grocery list of what we need to buy and we went shopping. It is a great addition to the series. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes Harry Potter and cooking with your children. Or just as an addition to your book collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and I absolutely love this cookbook. I constantly go back to it and I've had it for a year or two now. The blueberry muffin recipe is to die for. The books are also referenced to the page where the meal was mentioned, which is pretty neat. I also have severe peanut and fish allergies, and this is one of the first cookbooks I've owned where I can make pretty much every recipe.

Editorial Reviews

"This book could rightly be regarded as something like a portkey; to open it is to at once be transported back to a living world of … culinary delights. A pleasant stroll down memory lane with old friends. It’s a walk worth taking for many reasons, not least of which is the abundance of good eating to be shared along the way."
