A scientist and bestselling nature writer who will go to any extreme to satisfy his curiosity, Bill Streever sets off to find out what heat really means. Written in Streever's signature crisp and entertaining prose, HEAT is an adventurous personal narrative that leaves readers with a new vision of an everyday experience-how heat works, its history, and its relationship to daily life.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun Read! Biologist Bill Streever takes us on a global journey exploring heat. Heat from volcanoes, explosions, deserts, the sun and stars and so on. Just like his previous book, Cold, Streever writes in a Bill Bryson-style explaining complex scientific theories in a most accessible way. I look forward to reading Streever's next book.
