Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great artwork and very curte story! We received this as a gift and it has been of my favourite children's books. The artwork beautiful and colourful, as the story unfolds of Russell and his fellow sheep as they try to sleep. The others don't have a problem but Russell sure does! As an adult who has suffered from insomnia, this story resonates deeply with me. Moreover, the way the story is told is very entertaining and funny. Our little one hasn't appreciated the story as much as I have, likely due to our book being a hardcover which prevents him from grabbing and playing with the pages! However, I expect he will grow into this one over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delightful tale of insomiac sheep Mom's Review: The artwork is worth the price of the book alone, I dare you not to fall in love with his adorable face. The prose is simple, sweet and the storyline perfect for the young and old alike, as we have all suffered the difficulty of not being able to get to sleep. Russell has a charming personality and kids will enjoy his silly antics & maybe at the same time learn some ways of helping them get to sleep -- if they can stop giggling that is. This one is a must for all parents and absolutely perfect for story-time at school or the library. A classic I tell you. Mom's Rating: 10/10 Jake's Review: Russell is hilarious and I understand what it feels like to not be able to get to sleep. The pictures are cute and it is a very easy read. I think Jesse would like the pictures, if he can sit still long enough to look at them - I think that midget has ants in his pants. Maybe I will get him some more Russell books, mom says there are a few others. Jake's Rating: 9/10

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bedtime read The illustrations drew me to this book. The sheep are cute and cleverly drawn. My favourite has to be the sheep putting it's dentures back in in the morning. As my daughter gets older I think the drawings will appeal to her even more. Right now she just yell's "baa' happily every time we turn the page! :) The story is a simple one, Russell the sheep can't sleep, so he tries to find ways to make him sleepy. The cute little froggy that is on almost every page is a great way to get your toddler involved in looking for him.
