Lamaze Chill Teether recalled due to microbial contamination
December 15, 2022 – Lamaze is conducting a recall of its “Chill Teether,” due to contamination concerns related to the liquid inside the teether.
Affected Products:
This recall involves Lamaze’s “Chill Teether,” available in clear semi-transparent colour. The recalled teethers can be identified by item number Y5288L, UPC 071463052882 and production codes K1920ALP01 & E1920ALP01. Both item number and production code can be found directly on the back of the product and packaging. Only those teethers with production code K1920ALP01 or E1920ALP01, as indicated above, are included in this recall.
Testing by Health Canada and TOMY International, Inc., has determined that the products contain a liquid filling contaminated with either the bacteria Sphingomonas sp and Staphylococcus epidermidis, which may cause an infection in children with weakened immune systems if the product is punctured and the liquid is ingested.
What to do
Immediately stop using the recalled teether and contact TOMY International, Inc. to initiate a replacement request.

December 8, 2022 – Placote is conducting a recall of its “My First Words” cube, which may contain amounts of lead above regulatory limits in the Toys Regulation of the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
Affected Products:
This recall relates to the “My First Words” pocket cube, known in French as “Le Dé des Premiers Mots,” with UPC number [UPC 830096005135 and UPC 830096004220]. The affected product was sold in Canada from March 2022 to September 2022 in a cardboard box accompanied by cardboard cards.

The affected product should be immediately removed from sale.

In the United States, Fisher-Price has received 4 reports of infant fatalities in the 4-in-1 Rock 'n Glide Soothers. The infants were reportedly placed on their backs unrestrained in the product and later found on their stomachs. No reports of suffocation incidents have been reported for the 2-in-1 Soothe 'n Play Glider. Fisher-Price has received no reports of suffocation incidents for either product in Canada. While there have been no fatalities in the 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Gliders, Fisher-Price proactively included this product in the recall as the products are very similar.

If you have recently purchased a Fitbit Force from our website we appreciate your business very much and wanted to let you know that it has been brought to our attention that a very small number of users have experienced skin irritation from its use. As a result the manufacturer has decided to stop sale of Fitbit Force and conduct a voluntary recall.
What is causing the reported skin irritation?
Fitbit hired independent labs and medical experts to conduct a thorough investigation to identify the potential causes of skin irritation reported by a small percentage of Force users. Some users may be reacting to nickel in the stainless steel used in the device, even though the surgical grade material meets the most stringent regulatory standards. Other users are likely experiencing an allergic reaction to the materials in the strap or the adhesives used to assemble the product.
